Arsenal Women will wear black armbands
Arsenal Women to wear black armbands during Super League clash against Chelsea
The Gunners will be fully focused on their Super League match against Chelsea as they look to come out victorious in a well-packed Emirates Stadium.
Should they manage the win, they would be tied in points (27), with The Gunners having less games played.
A match to look forward to, as the Emirates welcomes over 45 000 spectators.

Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall took a few moments to touch on the positive impact this could have on Women’s sport. (Mirror UK)
“We see all these small things and all these things together, that’s what builds togetherness. We have the privilege to play in front of our own fans at the Emirates and it will be a great occasion.”
“It’s about enjoying that, starting to play with it as well. We are going from one-off occasions and having a lot of people at the Emirates to now saying in the WSL that this could be the third game in a row which hopefully gets over 40,000 people.”
Why will The Gunners wear a black armband?
Sadly, June Mead has passed away following a long fight with cancer. Her daughter, Beth Mead, has shared some heart breaking posts on social media. This gesture from the Club and her teammates will surely move her.
“I want to send my condolences to Beth and her family with the loss of her mother. It’s obviously something that has been taking a lot of energy for us as a team to have a player who goes through that. The players have asked to wear black armbands to honour that.” Arsenal boss has shared.
