FC Barcelona: double LaLiga titles, single parade!

FC Barcelona men and women’s teams took to the streets of Barcelona to celebrate their respective LaLiga titles.

"It's a pride to share this with them and have them closer than ever." Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Barça TV).

In a first ever joint parade for Barça, the players celebrated in an open-bus in front of nearly 80 000 Culers. They departed from the mythical Camp Nou and travelled all the way to the Arc de Triomf situated in the centre of the city.

The parade, which lasted three hours, was describe by the players as something surreal.

Barcelona defender, Ronald Araújo, claimed: "I've never experienced anything like this, I hope to enjoy many more experiences like this."

Barcelona: unbeatable duo

Both teams won LaLiga with four games remaining.

Xavi’s side managed to claim the title for the first time since 2019, the first since Messi’s departure from the Catalan city. It was their 25th league title overall.

For Barça Femeni, they were crowned champions for the fourth consecutive times. Year after year, they continue to grow the game of women’s football and attract more fans.

This joint parade symbolises a unity between both the women’s and men’s team. It celebrates both accomplishments as equal in importance; a necessary step to take women’s sport to the next level.

Barça Femeni are not done:

Alexia Putellas, two-time Ballon d'Or winner, told Barca TV: "We say to the fans that we are celebrating today, but that we have a lot of our minds focused on Eindhoven and that we will give everything and more to make them proud".

The women’s side still have more titles to conquer. In June, they will face Wolfsburg in the Women's Champions League final.
